The short version

No page on this site sets a cookie of its own. There is no advertising tag, no remarketing pixel, no Google Analytics and no session cookie, because there are no visitor accounts and nothing here needs to remember you between pages. Pages are counted, but without a cookie or anything else that tells one visitor from another.

There is no consent banner either, and that is a consequence rather than an oversight: nothing this site does by itself needs your consent. Two outside services can set cookies of their own, under their own names, and both are set out below.

This is deliberate. BespokeForge operates from Nigeria, so the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 governs it, and because it serves visitors and clients in Europe and the United Kingdom it also meets the GDPR and the UK GDPR. The simplest way to hold to all of them is to collect as little as possible in the first place. Everything below was checked by loading the site rather than assumed.

What this site stores in your browser

Two entries at most, both in your browser’s own storage rather than in cookies. A cookie is sent to the server with every request. These are not, and they never leave your browser.

The light or dark preference

  • What it is called: bf-theme-v2, in local storage.
  • When it appears: only when you click the light and dark mode toggle. Read the site without touching it and nothing is stored.
  • What it holds: the word light or the word dark. Nothing else, and nothing that identifies you.
  • What it is for: so the site opens in the mode you chose instead of flashing the wrong one at you.
  • How long it lasts: until you clear this site’s data. Clearing it returns the site to light mode.

The calculator’s figures

  • What it is called: bf-tco, in session storage.
  • When it appears: only when you ask the cost calculator to email you the breakdown.
  • What it holds: the six figures you typed, so they are still filled in when the page comes back after sending.
  • How long it lasts: until you close the tab.

The page counter

When a page opens, your browser tells this site’s own server which page it was, and the server adds one to that page’s count for the day. That is all it keeps: the page and the day. No cookie is set, nothing is stored in your browser, and no IP address or identifier is recorded, so the count cannot tell one visitor from another or follow anyone from page to page. The request reaches the server through Cloudflare, as every request to this site does, and no other company is involved.

The booking calendar

The contact page and the buttons that start the audit show a booking calendar that this site draws itself. Your browser asks this site, never another company, for the free times, so opening the calendar stores nothing and sends nothing elsewhere. When you book, this site’s server passes your name, your email and the line you wrote to Cal.com, which runs the calendar and sends the invitation; Cal.com’s own policy covers the booking from there. If the calendar cannot be reached, the site offers a link to Cal.com’s own booking page, and following it is a visit to Cal.com.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare sits in front of this website and carries every request to it. On each page it runs a small script of its own, served from this site’s address, to check whether the visitor is a person or a bot, and for that check it can set a short-lived security cookie on this site’s domain, such as cf_clearance or __cf_bm. Those cookies are Cloudflare’s, not this site’s: they are strictly necessary for keeping the site up and free of automated abuse, this site never reads them, and they are governed by Cloudflare’s own cookie policy. Cloudflare also hides the email address on each page from address-harvesting bots, which is why that link passes through an address starting /cdn-cgi/.

Apart from Cloudflare, no page asks anyone else for anything.

What is deliberately not here

  • No Google Analytics, no heatmaps, no session recording and no funnel tracking. The page counter above is the only measure of use.
  • No advertising or remarketing tags, and no social media pixels.
  • No fonts loaded from a font service. The typeface is served from this site’s own server, which is why no font company learns that you visited.
  • No scripts loaded from a content delivery network. The animation library is served from here too.
  • No embedded video, no map, no chat widget and no social buttons.
  • No visitor accounts, so no login or session cookie. No comments, so no comment cookie.

If any of that ever changes, this page changes before the thing goes live, not after.

Server logs, which are not cookies

The web server keeps an access log, as every web server does: the IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser identification string. That is not a cookie, and you cannot turn it off in your browser, so it is covered in the privacy policy instead of here.

Managing what your browser keeps

Every browser has a setting for site data, usually under privacy or site permissions. Clearing this site’s data removes the light and dark preference and the calculator’s figures, and nothing else, because there is nothing else.
